The B.A.M.F. Cooking Recipes

(Broke. Ass. Mother. F**king. Cooking.)

You might be asking yourself, "What is B.A.M.F. Cooking anyways?"

B.A.M.F. Cooking is a term that I coined during a time when money was tight, food was low, and I had to get creative with what ever was around the kitchen and pantry.

B.A.M.F. is the art of taking what you got and making it edible without incurring hospital bills.

There are only one rule for B.A.M.F. Cooking... It has to taste good yet cause the eater to look questionably at it before consumption ;)

With that said, I present to you some of my B.A.M.F. Cooking Recipes.  For some of the recipes there might not be convenient "amounts and measurements , but hey, that's the nature of things when your broke as hell right? ;)

Enjoy and Bon Apatite!

Ya Limey Mushroom Side!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of cream of mushroom
  • 1 can of Lima Beans (oh stop bitchin! they actually taste good after this)
  • Milk (2% preferably)
  • Mayo (Hellmans Mayo is best and none of the Miracle Whip Crap!)
  • Garlic powder
  • Ground black pepper
  • Oregano

Cooking:

- First you take a frying pan and set the heat to high heat.

- Then you take 2 table spoons of mayo (look in your utensil drawer, its the bigger of the two spoons you got genius. What? I told you this was not going to be exact!) and put it on the frying pan and spread around until it starts to reduce into oil and other good stuffs.

-Then add a dash of garlic powder, pepper, oregano, and let the spices cook for a few seconds to bring out the flavor.

- Then add the lima beans (make sure to drain the juice from the can before you put them the frying pan) to the frying pan and mix it well with the juices and spices and once they are evenly spread, cover the pan with a lid and let them cook for about 30 seconds or so.

- Then uncover and stir so they don't stick to the pan and add the can of cream of mushroom and enough milk to just cover the bottom of the pan but don't drown the beans.

- Mix well until the cream of mushroom and milk has combined into mushroom soup and then let it sit and cook uncovered until you start to see the soup thicken from evaporation (this brings out the flavor of the mushroom soup and combines well with the spices.

- Then serve as a side (or as the main dish really) and after the initial bitching from the person who is eating it is over, you will see they will enjoy it.  Make sure you tell them its hot and to let it cool for a minute or two..trust me on this.
